Last week I finished reading The Art of Intrusion, by Kevin Mitnick (yeah... you know...). Fun to read, I must say. Mitnick tells real life stories provided by other hackers. Often hacking away with ease. Mitnick keeps the book at an accessible level, you don't have to understand technology or hacking to appreciate this book. The down side if this is that it is harder to really appreciate the stories. I think that the hacks are harder and require more skill than the reader might interpret. Nevertheless the stories give insight in the mind of a hacker. I hope books like this one helps open eyes to the problems of security and help people and companies to get their security at the right level. |
