Home Architecture, security and coding Green architecture: Social
Green architecture: Social

A while ago I wrote about green architecture, sustainability in IT architecture. One of the three subjects to focus on is the social component. Of couse corporations can donate money to good causes and start up projects. But in which way can enterprise architecture help companies to give back to the comunity.

No tresholds
A company guideline for product, propositions, company processes and communication (digital or other) can be to provide as less tresholds as possible. Know your market. Make sure any customer or possible customer understands your communications. Choose the right level of laguage in your writing. Make sure that people are able to receive your communication. If you are only communication through e-mail, not everyone can receive your communications. Think of elderly people without computers. Make sure your websites are readable to everyone, even for blind people using braille-machines. Make sure it is easy for customers to reach you.

No discrimination
Make sure you treat everyone equally. In your products, processes and communications. For example if you provide life insurances you need to check the risks involved. Think hard on what's nessescary and what not.

These are some things you can incorporate as guidelines in your corporate architecure policy. If you have any more ideas, please share!
