The same issue, but a different concept than the cloud. On a phone we also store a lot of private data. What happened with that data? How sure are you that vendors will not gather your private data? Can you trust your data is not send to a third party? How about your contact list, video's, pictures, appointments, apps and so on.

I don't think it's bad to gather data. The fact that nobody tells you about these doubtless possibilities is bad. If this conviction is naive, then I like to be naive. Do I have a cellphone, but of course I do. It's a Microsoft smartphone. To stay aligned to one of the topics on the site...I'm certainly not more catholic than the pope!

Be wise and know what is known.
