A few weeks ago the subject during our catechesis meeting the subject was sanctification. What does holy mean? How does this affect the choices that you make? My fellow mentor said that you can show your faith by choosing not to do things. For example not to get drunk, when your friends do. Of course this depends on how strict you want to be. For example Amish people choose to abstain a lot. This does show your faith, but sets you aside with a judgement on others. You choose not to do what they do, because you think it is wrong. This last part will make other people feel judged. I think a better way to show your faith is through what you choose to do, not by what you choose not to do. Think of the Good Samaritan (or a lot of other Biblical examples). He chose to help someone in need. People around you won't feel judged, but would wonder what your motives are. This will give you a positive opportunity to explain your personal choices about faith. I've said it before in other posts and I will say it again. Evangelisation is being who you are. Keep conversations on faith personal, show how you feel and what you experience. Keep it positive. By choosing to act on your faith (in a positive way) this is a good ground for such a conversation.
