Last week we looked at verse 9 (Romans 12). Today it is time for verse 10: Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; The question here is who is included in the group designated with 'one another'. This is the group of Christians that the letter was send to. Be devoted to each other. How must we do that. The original text uses a word that is closer to charity. So, take care of other Christians like they were family. In my opinion this is the only advertising we as Christians can do. Portrait love to each other and people around us. If we disagree with fellow Christians from other denominations, that's alright. To disagree and discuss is to be involved and be critical about your faith. It is the way we discuss these matters. If it gets violent, stubborn, aggressive or passive aggressive it's not brotherly love. Help each other in need, be kind and respectful. If you can't live like this with fellow Christians, how on earth can you go out in to the world and portrait the love described in verse 9? |
