Verse 16 is part 9 of the series on Romans 12:

Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

This verse calls again to mind the whole group. Mind the people around you. Don't think that you are better than others, don't think that you are less. Think of yourself as equal to other people. To other Christians, yes, but I think this is also applicable to non-Christians.

Of course you'll have to keep thinking for yourselves. Be not wise in your own conceits does not mean that you must follow some leader. It means that you have to think for yourselve, but check your opinion with other people around you. A wise man is not someone that is certain, but someone that discusses her or his opinions.
