Atheistic bus campaign

I quite often read Derren Brown's blog. I really enjoyed his tv-shows (at least when they were on tv in the Netherlands). As you read his blog you'll see that he's an atheist (no judgment there, he should have the life philosophy that he wants). But recently I read this post: http://derrenbrown.co.uk/blog/2009/11/bus-campaign, where he links to another site.

I always wonder at things like this. A form of atheism like this, which apperantly must be evangelized by it's "believers". Of course it's ok to think there is no God (although I disagree, but you may believe what you want), but I think that doing this bus campaigns is doing what you try to fight. What do you mean by labeling? Aren't you labeling a child by not labeling it?

In my opinion it's impossible not to raise your child with your beliefs. You always will and if you try not to: is the belief system you think you have actually the same as the one you really have? The people behind this bus campaign forget the fact that humans always categorize each other, based on religion or not. I don't think this bus campaign will have the expected result.

The bus campaign wants children to have a choice, the question is how such a choice is given best. I think that raising a child with a belief-system (thus "labeling") gives this child an opportunity to become aware of metaphysical thinking and experience. If we don't give our children these experiences, they won't be able to understand what this will offer them. We are actually limiting their choice.
