Home Theology Unbelievable: biblical text on weapons
Unbelievable: biblical text on weapons

I got this link from an online contact: http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/us-military-weapons-inscribed-secret-jesus-bible-codes/story?id=9575794.

After reading this article I was astonished. Well... baffled is more like it! As a pacifist (I believe the use of violence never leads to any good, but I recognise the (very, very) rare need for it), I can't believe there are companies like this. Why are they abusing a religion based on peace and foregiveness. I know that holy scriptures are always interpreted in a certain way, but this can't be the way. It's a culturally given that some Americans (and some people outside of the USA) think they have the right to defend themselves with firearms and other means of force. In my opinion any biblical reference to support this opinion is a misinterpretation of the biblical scripture. Or better: misuse of the bible.

This article reminded me of a blog-post I read a while a go: http://faith-theology.blogspot.com/2009/12/theology-fail-christians-enjoy-killing.html.
